SUVs come in all shapes and sizes, which is evident when searching through Ford SUVs for sale. There is a barrage of options available to you, ranging in capability, comfort, and so much more—but regardless of which SUV you choose, you’re in good hands behind the wheel of a Ford. The 2024 Ford Edge, for example, may not be the longest-running nameplate Ford has to offer, but it is imbued with what makes Ford so great.

The Edge is a midsize SUV known for providing an extremely quiet and comfortable ride. It hasn’t been through a serious makeover in a while, but it is still successfully keeping up with the times. On the outside, the Edge combines beefy, muscular looks with refined and modern elements. Inside, it’s a collection of safety features and infotainment goodies that make it particularly relevant for the modern driver.

The Edge is available in five trims—the SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST—and all offer seating for up to five and ample cargo space for running errands, going on a trip, or just doing your daily thing. Inside and out, the Edge has plenty to offer, and at Chapman Ford, we are thrilled to offer such a well-rounded SUV.

Dazzling Design

The Edge is a perfect combination of sleek refinement and aggressive styling, making this particular SUV stand out in its crowded market. A unique grille adorns the front end, with a body-colored surround and front fascia. The overall look is streamlined, emphasizing the rounded front end and lending to the balance of bold and sleek. Body-colored door handles, mirror caps, and cladding all create a continuous flow.

The rear mimics the front end’s rounded corners but adds some details for a sportier look. One worth noting is the integrated dual exhaust, which definitely beefs up the back half. A rear body-colored spoiler gives the Edge an “edgy” look. Optional add-ons like roof side rails and a moonroof add extra interest to the Edge’s design.

Inside, your styling options range from simplistic and modern to bold and unique. Depending on the trim, the seats are wrapped in either soft cloth or Ford’s specialized ActiveX material. There are also leather-trimmed options for a truly premium experience. Colorful stitching accents and unique details like the available metallic foot pedal push the Edge further into the racing realm.

To truly customize the Edge, Ford offers several appearance packages that give the SUV a whole new feel. The SE Black Appearance package is exclusive to the SE trim and slaps gloss-black paint on the rims, along with black on the grille and surround. Other black details include the mirror caps and trimming along the lower side molding. These extra details create a more modern and sophisticated look.

Embrace the thrill of driving the Edge with the Sport Appearance package. Inside, the Edge gets Navy Pier-colored seating in ActiveX material and is offset with orange stitching for a fun color combination. Carbonized Gray changes up the wheel design, and black accents around the exterior add to its distinctive appeal.

Truly Techy

One of the first things you might notice when sliding behind the Edge’s steering wheel is its massive infotainment screen. A 12.0-inch touchscreen display sits vertically embedded in the center stack. Thanks to its positioning and size, it is easy to navigate all the essential applications and information available to you.

SYNC 4A keeps all trim levels running up to date with cloud-based connectivity, wherein software updates are sent wirelessly to keep you and your Edge in the know. 4G Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities are accessed through the impressive display, along with features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Voice Recognition allows for hands-free control of all the latest programs and comes standard as part of SYNC 4A. You’ll even enjoy standard SiriusXM 360L for your daily commute or weekend adventures.

Optional built-in navigation is another great feature that can be accessed through the display. This is a great feature for live traffic updates, route guidance, and more; it’s an option that can be added on most trims, but it’s not the only one! Other available tools include a wireless charging pad for compatible smart devices and a 180-degree camera mounted to the front with a unique Split View.

To complement the front view camera, all trims come standard with a Rear View Camera that includes guidelines for backing up, parking, and even loading up a trailer. The Rear View Camera doubles as a safety and convenience feature and is joined with a whole suite of other tech tools that provide additional safety and convenience. Auto High Beams are another double-duty feature, turning your high beams on and off depending on traffic so that you don’t have to moderate.

From Ford’s special BLIS system, which offers support for blind zone awareness, to the Edge’s AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control feature, the Ford Edge has it all. Standard features abound and work together to keep you safe on the long haul. Carefully curated to cover front to back, the 2024 Ford Edge is a tech-forward SUV for the modern family.

Comfort & Capability

Unlike some of Ford’s other vehicles, the Ford Edge won’t get you from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye—but that’s okay. The Edge is available with two engine options, both more than enough for everyday driving. The base engine—which is standard on most trims—is a 2.0L EcoBoost Turbo I-4 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The shifter has been replaced with a rotary knob, which frees up space and adds a bit of a unique flair to the console.

The top trim (the ST) comes standard with a 2.7L EcoBoost Turbo V6, which is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission rather than an eight. The V6 hands out more power, making the ST a thrill ride with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. This is compared to 250 hp from the Turbo I-4. All trims sport all-wheel drive as standard for concise and responsive handling.

The Edge features an assortment of programs working silently behind the scenes, like Traction Control and Auto Start-Stop Technology. The latter helps save green at the pump, silently turning your vehicle off at stops and starting it back up again without you even noticing. This subtle assistance is one of the things that makes Ford so great.

Edging Out the Competition

The Edge is a fantastic balance of thrill and chill, providing a quiet and comfortable ride without sacrificing everyday necessities. Either engine option will blow you away with its dependable performance and fun, zippy ride. In the cabin, you’ll be treated to comfort, convenience, and enough styling to make you feel like your Edge is the only one out there.

Ford has found a way to create balance in this midsize SUV, making the 2024 Ford Edge a great option for families, adventurers, and commuters alike. With the merit of the Blue Oval backing it up, you know you’ll be driving an SUV that will last for ages. This midsize SUV is just right, and at Chapman Ford, we know that “just right” means “right for you.” Check out the new 2024 Ford Edge and see what it has in store for you!
